Our methodology

The Springboard

Four stages that load and release. Market sets the target, Hook creates tension, Pipeline compresses at volume, Close launches the prospect into a signed client.

01

Approach

Stage 1

Market

What it is: Who you actually sell to, defined tightly enough to act on. Not ecommerce brands. A segment narrow enough that one message lands with every business in it.

Why agencies get it wrong: Most agencies define their market by the clients they happen to have won. That is a record of the past, not a decision about the future. A broad market forces a vague message, and a vague message gets ignored by everyone in it.

What we do

We look at where your agency is genuinely strong and which clients you want more of. Then we choose one segment and write it down precisely enough that a list can be built from it and checked against it.

02

Load

Stage 2

Hook

What it is: The reason that person replies. Usually a piece of diagnostic work that has value on its own and proves competence before anyone is asked to buy.

Why agencies get it wrong: Agencies lead with their services. The prospect is not shopping, so a list of services is a pitch they did not ask for. Nobody wants a pitch. Some people want to know what is wrong with their account.

What we do

We build a piece of diagnostic work your team can deliver for that segment. It is useful whether or not they ever become a client, and it shows the quality of your thinking before the first call.

03

Compress

Stage 3

Pipeline

What it is: Conversations at a rate that survives the maths. This is where outbound sits. It is a volume problem with a quality gate.

Why agencies get it wrong: This is the stage agencies most often buy alone, and the one they are most often disappointed by. Volume without the first two stages is noise. A bad list damages the sender and returns almost nothing.

What we do

We run the outbound under your agency’s name, to the segment from stage one, carrying the hook from stage two. Every list passes a quality gate before it is sent. In our own account the cleanest list bounced 0.10% and returned 9.97% replies. The worst bounced 15.14% and returned 0.75%.

04

Launch

Stage 4

Close

What it is: Someone senior running discovery and pitching under your agency’s brand.

Why agencies get it wrong: Almost nobody sells this stage. Agencies generate interest and hand it to a founder already at capacity. Follow up slips, and good conversations go cold.

What we do

We take the calls. Discovery, the pitch and the follow up are run by the same person who chose the market and built the hook, so nothing said in the first message is lost by the last meeting. Prospects meet your agency throughout.
